Write for us

We welcome pitches from writers who can explain a subject in Asian history or cultural traditions with precision, context and a clear path for general readers. Send proposals through the Contact page.

What we are looking for

Pitch focused, evergreen pieces on history, philosophy, language, art or tradition. Strong proposals identify a specific question, place, period or cultural setting and explain what readers will understand by the end.

A useful pitch

Include a working title, a short summary, the central idea, the intended category and a brief note on relevant writing experience or subject familiarity. Tell us what material or sources you would use, and flag any uncertainty or contested interpretation.

Before you send

We value original work, careful distinctions and writing that avoids broad claims about Asia as a whole. Do not send a finished article unless requested. Proposals are sent through the Contact page using the editorial question option.
